Bringing the Community Together Through Literature and the Arts

Each year, the JPCI and Stephens Boys and Girls Club partner with the City of Fort Smith’s Multicultural Center to host a Cultural Literacy Initiative Program called "Encouraging Our Children to Read." The purpose of this program is to promote cultural awareness and literacy.

Best selling authors are invited to speak to students at the Elm Grove Community Center in Fort Smith, as well as other local influential speakers and political figures. You can read more about events from previous years below.
